Aromatically lifted, it opens with rose petals, violet, red cherry, wild strawberry, and subtle hints of white pepper and herbs. The palate is refined and silky, with finely woven tannins, bright acidity, and a long, graceful finish. Less about power and more about finesse, this Barolo captures the airy, perfumed soul of Monvigliero, an ethereal style with remarkable depth and ageing potential.Ageing/Vinification: In the cellar, the approach is classic and respectful of tradition. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, followed by a long maceration to gently extract structure and aromatic complexity. The wine is then aged in large Slavonian oak botti for around two to three years, allowing the terroir to speak without the influence of new wood.Vineyard: The Monvigliero vineyard sits in Verduno, on calcareous marl soils at around 250–300 metres above sea level. This cru is known for its airy exposure and cooler microclimate, which favour slow, even ripening and preserve Nebbiolo’s natural perfume and acidity. Oddero farms the site organically, with low yields that enhance purity and site expression.
