Official Raider Company C 813 Cryptic Patches — When the Mission Can't Be Talked About, the Patch Says It All Some patches tell you everything. This one tells you just enough to know you don't have clearance for the rest. The Marine Raiders are the United States Marine Corps' special operations force — the elite operators of Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) who conduct direct action, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, and counter-terrorism operations in the most denied and contested environments on earth. Raider Company C carries forward the legacy of the World War II Marine Raiders — Carlson's Raiders and Edson's Raiders — who conducted some of the most daring behind-enemy-lines operations in the Pacific theater. Today's Marine Raiders are among the most highly trained and carefully selected Marines in the Corps, completing a rigorous assessment and selection process followed by the Individual Training Course before earning the right to wear the Marine Raider insignia. The cryptic nature of this patch reflects the operational security that defines special operations — missions that can't be discussed, locations that can't be named, and results that speak for themselves. The '813' designation and the cryptic design elements are insider references that those who served will immediately recognize and those who didn't will simply appreciate. This patch is a piece of the Raider community's culture. Perfect For: MARSOC Raiders and support personnel, Marine Special Operations community members, Marine Raider veterans, and anyone who has served in the special operations community.
