Originally painted in 1997 the 'Ohana was inspired by the familial bond that Native Hawaiians share. Family is everything, and 'Ohana tells us that life connects all members of a community that work together to ensure that every member gets the resources they need to thrive in the island communities. Each type of 'Ohana relationship comes with benefits and obligations. Generally, the culture expects everyone in a family-group to act responsibly, act with integrity, and mutually support one another. Here we see that this 'Ohana works together to protect and care for their ocean's health and wave perfection
