35 x 24cm Cast Iron Made from about 5kg of pure cast iron this Oigen grill is designed for the outdoorsy type. With two grills and six bricks you can build a barbeque within minute s, just add wood, some meat and a few cold frosties. A single grill can also be used on your existing bbq. Oigen cast iron has amazing heat retention and durability so less charcoal/wood can be used. The Oigen grill will fit on our regular and medium konro (see pictures) with the following considerations. If you are using authentic Japanese binchotan the grill will get extremely hot so you need to use less charcoal than you would use with the thin grill nets. We find that using the Oigen cast iron grill top is suited to cooking thicker cuts of meat because of the high heat retention, but it will take a little experience to get the temperature just right. In full disclosure we did make a few burnt sacrifices before we got it right. Note: When washing use hot water, soap and a green scourer. Make sure the grill is completely dry and rub with a little oil to prevent rust. Let the grill cool down before putting in water because the sudden change in temperature will cause it to crack.
