Berlin-based producer Kutmah returns to (iN)Sect Records with Old Ghosts, newly expanded for this Rough Trade exclusive 12" edition and featuring the bonus track “El Dora,” available only on this pressing. Built from dusty loops, field recordings, fractured beats and fragments of memory, Old Ghosts unfolds like a recovered archive—sounds surfacing, disappearing and settling into place while retaining their original tension. Long before the Los Angeles beat scene became visible to the wider world, Kutmah was helping shape it from within. In 2004 he founded Sketchbook at The Room in Hollywood, creating an early home for instrumental beat experimentation before Low End Theory. His history spans Poo-Bah Records, his close creative friendship with Ras G, Hit+Run, Big Dada, All City and his own IZWID imprint. Featuring cover artwork and an OBI strip designed by Kutmah, this new 12" edition is limited to 300 copies: on Pink vinyl. With the addition of the Rough Trade-exclusive “El Dora,” the pressing brings together Kutmah’s music and visual work in a new limited physical edition of Old Ghosts.
