The Quake precision bass pickup is a split pickup of two hum-cancelling coils. It is built in the vintage fashion with vulcanised fibreboard flatwork and alnico 5 rod magnets. The alnico 5 rod magnets of this design makes it a great upgrade over the cheap ceramic magnet pickups that you'll find in many budget instruments. Alnico 5 rods are much stronger than their ceramic magnet and steel pole alternative. The additional strength adds more output and a punchier, cleaner tone.
