To celebrate the 2024 Paris Olympics I have created a dazzled bone china mug, made exclusively for me in Scotland. This design interprets the iconic dazzle design that transformed the majestic Olympic, sister to the Titanic, to her more feisty WW1 persona ‘Old Reliable’ Inside the mug is a swallow in flight, this references Edwardian Spode mugs that sometimes had a swallow inside with the words ‘However you try to drink me up, there’s always a swallow left in the cup’ The swallow tattoo was originally used by sailors to show if they had any sailing experience.
