The Full Story The Omega Seamaster has been a legacy collection for Omega since it first launched in 1948 and continues to be a staple of the brand's modern catalog. With a focus on robustness and reliability for everyday wear, vintage Seamasters offer a particularly great value. The example we have here is a Seamaster 120. This iteration first appeared in the Omega line-up in the mid-1960s as an amateur version of the legendary Seamaster 300 model, which debuted in the late 1950s. There were several versions of this watch released, including an iteration with a date function (ref. 166.027). However, there's something very pure and attractive about this variation without the date complication. This watch has aged beautifully over the years, and we paired it with our Bedford strap in beige to play off of the lume color and give this traditional tool watch more of a casual vibe. In this particular watch, we see a faded "ghost bezel" in a handsome grey color, giving the model a softer presence. In addition, the Seamaster 120 has a screw-down case engraved with the iconic Hippocampus logo and SEAMASTER-120 branding. This watch was recently fully serviced and the crown was replaced with an Omega service crown. The case is strong with scratches. The caseback center engraving is visible and the steps in the caseback are also clearly visible. The dial is clean with light patina. The lume on the hands has darkened and the minutes hand has a small spot of lume missing toward the tip. The lume on the dial has developed patina. The hands and hour markers have developed patina. The bezel has faded to a grey color and shows signs of wear around the edges. The lume dot at 12 o'clock on the bezel is missing. The dial, case, movement, crystal, and crown are signed by the maker.
