On the Beach is a collage print exploring scale, play and quiet unease beneath familiar scenes. A small child appears oversized within a crowded beach landscape, their presence both playful and unsettling. Above, planetary bodies hover in a vast night sky, collapsing distance between the everyday and the cosmic. The image plays with proportion and perspective. Sunbathers become miniature, the shoreline stretches unrealistically, and the sky refuses to behave as background. What begins as a nostalgic seaside scene gradually shifts into something stranger and more ambiguous. Rather than focusing on innocence alone, On the Beach examines how memory and imagination distort scale — how childhood, leisure and threat can coexist within the same image. The work invites prolonged looking, revealing its tension slowly rather than theatrically. They are glazed with picture glass and are not available for postal delivery. Framed prints are available for free studio collection, or free local hand delivery within 5 miles of the Bravespears studio on framed orders over £50.
