It is uniquely manufactured using nitrogen-expanded low-density polyethylene, and cannot be replicated. This type of foam is 3x lighter than standard PVC foam, and absorbs 15-20% less water due to its closed-cell foam structure. Additionally, it is 10% more buoyant than PVC, allowing us to use less foam in each vest and still maintain buoyancy. They are form fitting and will stretch. If you are used to wearing a loose fitting vest, ski and wake vests will feel much different. They are designed NOT to ride up on you while in the water. When you first zip the vest, it will feel very tight, then loosen up once you are in the water.
