OneUp have found that a lot of 35mm clamp diameter bars on the market, while being really stiff for great control, are just too stiff for comfort. The 35mm bore allows for the bar to be both stronger and lighter at the same time, but it does create a very stiff bar with a high rate of deflection. This translates to sore wrists and arms on longer, rougher descents.To combat this, OneUp have designed a their bars with a different profile and have ovalised the tubing between the 35mm clamp area, and the 22.2mm area for the grips, shifter, brakes etc.What this ovalisation does, is allows the bar to flex vertically, but laterally and torsionally allows to bar to stay super stiff for predictable and direct steering response.
