You may have seen in the press that there has been a voluntary recall of Onewheel products in the US. The voluntary recall was for an innovative firmware update done through the Onewheel app that installs a new safety alert feature that we call ‘Haptic Buzz.’ The firmware update will be available for all boards (GT, Pint X, Pint, +XR). Haptic buzz is an alert riders can hear and feel when experiencing certain situations that can result in a crash. Haptic buzz is designed to work in conjunction with the existing pushback safety feature to help riders further recognize that the board’s ability to balance may soon be exceeded so they can lean back and slow down to avoid crashing.
