This sets the "memory" for the candle, and it will follow this pattern during subsequent burns. Longer Burn Times: Wood wick candles often require longer burn times than cotton wick candles. Aim to burn them for at least 2-3 hours during each use. This helps maintain an even wax pool and prevents tunneling. Trim the Wick: Before lighting the candle after the first burn, remove access burned wick. This helps create a clean, even burn and prevents excess soot.
