Non-chill filtered and presented at a very approachable ABV of 43%, this whisky showcases the craftsmanship of this new distillery in Kagoshima, Japan. Tasting Notes: Nose: Aromatic notes of dry fruits, figs, and plums entice the senses. Palate: The palate reveals a rich sweetness reminiscent of raisins and figs, complemented by pear compote and apricot. Subtle spices and toasty savory notes add depth to the flavor profile. Finish: A warm finish lingers with spices and a hint of chocolate, creating a satisfying end to the tasting experience. Ontake Distillery is perched atop the hills of Kagoshima on Kyushu Island, representing Nishi Shuzo's latest venture into whisky production. Established in 1845, Nishi Shuzo has built a reputation as a high-quality shochu producer and more recently a sake brewer.
