Opalite is a manufactured opalescent glass, not a natural opal, milky white with a blue shimmer that shifts under light. Set as a dowsing pendulum on an approximately 23cm chain, w ith a pendant approximately 3.5cm in length. Dowsing pendulums are a weighted object swung on a chain to give a yes/no answer - the practice has been used for thousands of years, with the earliest depictions of a similar Y-shaped tool dating to around 6000BC, thought to be used for locating water.
