Original Oil by Lynne Millar Framed Size: 8" x 10" Artist Statement: Raised in McLean, Virginia, I earned my BA in Art History from Brigham Young University, with many art classes along the way and thereafter. Now I raise my family of four children in Central California with my amazing husband Steve, and paint. Constantly. The process of putting a brush to surface slows time down for me so I notice subtleties - texture on a petal, a swipe of ripening pigment on a pear, light filtering through a child's skirt - in ways I otherwise entirely miss. Painting is my way of paying attention to and processing the beauty and complexity of the world (and people) around me, through color, brushstroke, and texture. Show more
