The short letter of Jude is not often studied in depth. It deals with the problem of false teaching in the church, and the ungodliness that so often goes with it. It makes for uncomfortable but necessary reading: these problems are as common today as they were then. Jude urges us to ‘contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints’, warning us faithfully of the danger of false teachers, and the judgement they face, whilst lovingly encouraging us to stand firm in the faith and to seek the salvation of others.\nRobert Dale is retired minister of a church in, Lincoln, England, and a member of the council of Day One Christian Ministries.
