There are all kinds of teaching aids: diagrams, text explanations, digitized photographs, even two short movies. One advantage of a computerized frog, aside from the lack of mess, is that you can put it back together again. The "reconstruction" mode is a good test of your knowledge. Both dissections and reconstructions can be saved on a disk, to be continued at a later session.Printouts can be made at any stage of an operation and either text or graphics can be transferred to a word-processing or paint program. An electronic frog is not as complex as a living one. It has no bones, and a single muscle system rather than individual muscles. The program and its manual are geared for teachers, and suggestions abound for related classroom activities.
