Sprayed on, this Smith & Nephew film dressing dries to a clear protective layer over the skin, so there is no pad or tape to position on areas that are awkward to dress. Supplied in a 100ml can, it is designed for use in skin graft fixation and on clean, dry surgical wounds, surface wounds, unbroken blisters, minor burns and scalds. It suits clean, dry, low-exudate wounds; it is not designed for heavily exuding wounds, which need an absorbent dressing. The film is permeable to moisture vapour, which lets the skin breathe and may help prevent peri-wound skin maceration. It is resistant to external water-based fluids, and it is quick and easy to apply and remove while staying intact on difficult-to-dress areas.
