The Smith & Nephew Opsite Post-Op is a low allergy post-operative film dressing with a low-adherent absorbent pad and a bacterial barrier film. It suits acute wounds with low to moderate exudate, such as post-operative wounds, lacerations, cuts, abrasions and minor burns. The transparent film lets you see the wound and surrounding skin without lifting the dressing, and the waterproof film means the patient can shower with it in place. This dressing comes in eight sizes. The pad needs to cover the wound while the adhesive film sits on intact skin all the way around, so match the size to the wound plus a margin of healthy skin on each side. The smaller sizes are often used on smaller wounds such as those on fingers, hands and the face, while the wider, longer sizes are commonly used on larger or longer incisions. If a wound sits between two sizes, choose the larger one so the adhesive border has clean skin to grip. For help choosing between film, foam and island dressings, see our guide to selecting the right wound dressing, or browse the full range of island dressings. First Aid Distributions has been family-owned and run since 2011, dispatching from our East Bendigo warehouse and Sydney fulfilment centre. We supply this range to community nurses and aged care teams across Australia, and we can set up recurring orders for regular users.
