The Orange Crush Mini 3W Mini Guitar Combo Amplifier in Black packs genuine Orange character into an ultra-compact practice amp that can go almost anywhere. With 3 watts of output, an all-analogue signal path and a 4-inch Orange Voice of the World speaker, the Crush Mini is ideal for bedroom practice, backstage warm-ups, travelling and keeping close to hand whenever inspiration strikes. Its simple Gain, Shape and Volume controls let you move quickly from cleaner sounds through crunchy overdrive without menus, presets or complicated editing. Despite its miniature dimensions, Orange includes an integrated chromatic tuner, Aux input, CabSim-equipped headphone output and an 8-ohm external speaker connection. Power it from the included 9V battery or a compatible external DC supply and you have one of the most portable ways to access classic Orange-style guitar tones. Finished in Black, this version offers the familiar Crush design in a more understated colour scheme. Orange Crush Mini 3W Guitar Combo Amplifier in Black 9V battery ✘ External DC power supply not included Why Choose The Orange Crush Mini? Proper Orange Character In A Tiny Amp The Crush Mini uses an all-analogue signal path, keeping its operation much closer to a conventional guitar amplifier than a menu-driven miniature modeller. Plug in, set the Gain, adjust Shape and control your overall level with Volume. Gain And Shape Controls The Gain control takes the amplifier from cleaner sounds towards increasingly driven and crunchy tones. Orange's Shape control adjusts the wider EQ character with a single knob, making it quick to find a brighter, more cutting sound or a thicker response without needing separate Bass, Middle and Treble controls. Built-In Chromatic Tuner A compact practice amplifier is most useful when you can simply pick up the guitar and start playing. The integrated chromatic tuner means you do not need to find a separate pedal or clip-on tuner before every practice session. CabSim Headphone Output The 3.5mm headphone connection includes Orange CabSim, designed to give the direct signal more of the tonal character associated with a miked Orange 4x12 cabinet. This makes the Crush Mini especially useful for silent practice when using the built-in speaker would disturb others. Connect An External Speaker Cabinet An 8-ohm external speaker output allows you to connect a compatible guitar cabinet, giving this miniature amplifier an extra dimension beyond its internal 4-inch speaker. Orange Crush Mini Compared With Popular Alternatives Orange Crush Mini vs Crush 12 The Crush 12 is considerably larger and offers greater output, a bigger speaker and a more comprehensive EQ section. Choose the Crush Mini when portability is the main priority; choose the Crush 12 when you want a more substantial dedicated home amplifier. Orange Crush Mini vs Crush 20 The Crush 20 adds much greater output, an 8-inch speaker and separate Clean and Dirty channels. The Mini is better suited to travel and casual practice, while the Crush 20 makes more sense as a primary home amplifier. Orange Crush Mini vs Micro Terror The Micro Terror is a separate 20-watt hybrid amplifier head requiring a speaker cabinet. It offers a much larger and more expandable rig, while the Crush Mini provides its own built-in speaker and battery operation for maximum convenience. Who Is The Orange Crush Mini For? The Crush Mini is particularly well suited to: Guitarists needing a highly portable practice amp Beginners looking for a simple first amplifier Experienced players wanting a second grab-and-go amp Musicians warming up backstage Guitarists travelling away from their main rig Students practising quietly with headphones Players short on bedroom or desk space Orange fans looking for a compact practice solution Looking for advice on choosing the right small guitar amp, practice setup or first electric-guitar rig? Our experienced team of musicians can help by phone, online or in-store. Is A 3-Watt Guitar Amp Enough For Practice? For home practice and personal playing, absolutely. The Crush Mini is deliberately designed around portability and convenience rather than competing with a drummer or filling a venue. Its 3-watt output is enough to let you hear and enjoy your electric guitar without the excessive volume of a full-size stage amplifier. For rehearsals with a full band or live performances, moving to a larger Crush, Orange combo or separate head-and-cab system will provide the additional headroom and projection required. Story & Context Orange introduced the Crush amplifier family around the turn of the millennium, developing the range as an accessible way for guitarists to experience the company's distinctive approach to analogue amplification. The Crush Mini takes that philosophy to its smallest practical format. Instead of trying to reproduce a full modelling workstation in miniature, Orange concentrates on a simple analogue signal path, recognisable Orange controls and the features that matter for everyday practice. Its battery operation, tuner and headphone facility make it particularly useful away from a conventional rehearsal or studio setup. Compatibility & Recommended Pairings Electric Guitars The Crush Mini works with conventional electric guitars using standard ¼-inch instrument connections. Headphones Compatible headphones can be connected to the 3.5mm CabSim output for silent practice. Backing Tracks The 3.5mm Aux input allows a compatible external audio source to be connected for playing along with songs, lesson material or backing tracks. External Speaker Cabinet The amplifier includes an 8-ohm external speaker output for use with a compatible passive guitar cabinet. Always use a dedicated speaker cable when connecting an external speaker. It can also be powered from a compatible: 9V DC external power supply Centre-negative connection The external power supply is not included. Plugging a guitar lead into the amplifier activates the power, so removing the instrument cable after use helps avoid unnecessarily draining the battery. Fair Deal Music Verdict ★★★★★ 5/5 The Orange Crush Mini Black is exactly what a good miniature practice amp should be: easy to use, extremely portable and entertaining enough that you'll actually want to keep picking up the guitar. The Gain and Shape controls provide plenty of tonal variation for casual practice, while the tuner, Aux input and CabSim headphone output make it much more useful than a basic novelty mini amp. The ability to connect an external 8-ohm cabinet is a particularly fun addition and gives players another way to experiment with the little amplifier. Best suited for: Home players, travelling guitarists and anyone wanting a tiny secondary practice amp. Main benefit: Genuine portable guitar amplification weighing less than 1kg. Value proposition: Combines an amplifier, speaker, tuner and silent-practice facility in one compact unit. Standout feature: CabSim headphone output and external speaker capability from such a small amplifier. Customers usually upgrade from: Headphone-only practice solutions or completely unplugged electric-guitar practice. Most commonly paired with: Electric guitar, headphones, instrument cable and a compatible 9V power supply for regular home use. Our tip: If you're mainly using the Crush Mini at home, a compatible DC power supply saves batteries. Keep battery operation available for travelling or situations where there is no convenient mains socket. Showroom feedback: The Crush Mini works best as an amp you keep within easy reach. Its biggest advantage isn't huge volume or endless features — it's how easy it makes picking up your guitar for ten minutes of practice whenever you have the opportunity.
