Vallebona, a town in the Province of Imperia in the Italian region of Liguria has been home for seven generations to the family of Pietro Guglielmi. La Vecchia Distilleria, the fam ily distillery, has been lovingly restored by Guglielmi under the watchful eye of his 97 year old grandmother who helps pick and sort the blossoms from their many bitter orange trees. La Vecchia Distilleria makes neroli oil, but the item of especial interest for us is the left over water from that process. We wanted only the very best orange flower water (hydrosol) for our colognes and our search ended here. The Guglielmi family puts as much love and care into the production of their flower water as they do their neroli oil. And for that reason we had to have it. Below is a demonstration formula for Eau de Coty which demonstrates the use of floral waters in fragrance making.
