Turkey joints are a bone-shaped candy that originated in Rome, New York in 1919: Origin The candy was originally called Turkey Legs and was handmade at Nora's Candy Shop. Name The candy gets its name from the knobby "joints" that run up and down its length, which are actually Brazil nuts embedded in the chocolate. The bumps from the nuts make the candies look like bones. Taste The outside is sweet and almost tastes like cotton candy.
