To properly prep the nail, file to your desired shape and lightly buff the surface of the nail to create a slight texture. Using a lint free wipe and 3-in-1 Cleanser or Alcohol, wipe the nail plate to remove any dust, oils, or lotions. Finally, apply Orly Gel Primer to the tip of the nail. A: To safely remove a gel manicure and minimize damage to your natural nails be sure to use the following instructions. Never pick or peel off a gel manicure as this can cause damaged, weak nails.First, using a medium grit file, file away the top shiny layer of your gel manicure. Apply genius remover to the cotton pad in a foil remover wrap and wrap around the nail with the cotton pad on the nail and let soak for 10-15 minutes. Remove the foil remover wrap and using a Cuticle Pusher & Remover, gently push the gel off of the nail. If the gel doesn’t come off easily, continue to soak for an additional 5 minutes. You should not have to use force to remove the gel material. After removal, file your nails to the desired length and shape and lightly buff the surface of the nail if necessary.
