In Ornithology, light and bright linden blossom takes over most of the citrus role, balanced by green and fruity violet leaf. But rose is the star, flying with intoxicating frangipani and cypress wood -- held together by a drop of styrax, the animalic liquid amber of the sweetgum tree. Oakmoss runs through the entire composition, eventually giving way to a soft white musk. Wear it in June when the lindens start blooming. Wear it again on a fall hike through the woods.
