How to apply: Remove any old coatings (paint, varnish, lacquer). If sanding, do not go finer than P120. Clean the surface using an exterior wood cleaner and allow to dry thoroughly. Treat bare wood with WR 4006 Wood Protector first for maximum longevity. Apply the oil thinly with a brush for decking or lint free cloth for furniture, working along the grain. Allow to dry for at least 12 hours, then apply a second coat, also thinly - this can be with Osmo Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 Clear if desired. Apply Osmo End Grain Sealing Wax over the decking oil on any exposed end grain to prevent moisture absorption that could rot the wood from inside. Top tips Apply thin coats - over-application can affect drying and finish quality. Always work with the grain for an even, professional look. Ensure the wood is clean, dry, frost-free, and has a moisture content below 20%. Allow new or dense timber to weather for around 6 weeks before application.
