The clear PC dome adds a physical barrier in front of the lens so you can keep shooting with more confidence in messy environments like action sports, outdoor travel, and unpredictable weather. PC is impact-durable, but it is not scratch-resistant. Minor cosmetic marks are normal with use and can affect image clarity—expect some optical degradation when shooting through the dome.
