All too aware of the quality of English wines and cheeses these days, it seems the French won't let themselves fall behind in the gin stakes. This delicious and unusual gin is made by the Vallet family of Chateau Montifaud, Cognac producers and winemakers in Gascony. It's distilled from local grapes rather than grain and is not chill-filtered, preserving more of the flavours and textures. Very smooth and rounded with Cognac-like notes of apple, apricot and almond, in quite a dry, classic, juniper-led style, perfect served simply with tonic water or as a martini. Show more
