Osuzu Gin is crafted from Osuzuyama Distillery's signature Yamaneko "Wildcat" sweet-potato shochu base (80% estate-grown Joy White sweet potatoes and 20% handmade white koji rice) and infused with a distinctive selection of botanicals including juniper, sansho pepper, kinkan citrus, hyuganatsu citrus, yuzu, ginger, sacred sakaki wood, and shiitake—all estate-grown without pesticides except the juniper. This bold, aromatic gin opens with vibrant yuzu and citrus on the nose, while the palate reveals surprisingly robust woodsy notes from the rare sakaki (a sacred aromatic wood used in Shinto shrines) and the distinctive spiciness of sansho pepper.
