Overview Family: Loricariidae Otocinclus Catfish, often called “Otos”, are small, gentle algae eaters native to South American rivers and streams. They are highly valued for their ability to control soft algae without damaging plants. Otos thrive in well-established, mature aquariums with plenty of natural biofilm. Shy at first, they are best kept in groups where they feel secure and display natural social behaviours. Their small size, peaceful nature, and algae-eating habits make them an excellent addition to community aquariums.
