This IFF oud base opens with fruity sweetness, a touch of dank earth, and the whisper of a medicinal note. This is followed by balsams, spices (particularly cinnamon) and a quiet animalic growl. This is almost like a refined version of the classic Firmenich Oud Synth. Unlike Oud Synth, this IFF speciality is less vetiver forward. The blending is impeccable. This is one of the most polite (but not tame) oud bases and one I heartily recommend. If you are new to oud, this is a good start. Blend it with red berry aromachemicals like dulcinyl, rasberry ketone, and raspberry glycidate, or with our highly popular Raspberry Ripple base. To bring out the spiced notes I recommend Firmenich's Pretty Oud.
