Rose arrives twice in this one, first pale and powdered with violet, a hint of strawberry ghosting through before it fades, then again deeper and more Turkish by the time the oud s ettles in underneath. Between those two roses sits everything the composition is really about: petal turning to resin. It opens with Bulgarian rose brushed in violet powder, strawberry catching on the exhale just long enough to soften the edges. Turkish rose rises next, richer and more velvet than the top, holding the shape of the whole thing together. Then the base settles in slow: oud, dark and resinous, wrapped in vanilla, amber, benzoin, caramel, and a dry pass of cedar that keeps the sweetness from tipping into dessert. Wear it after dark, fall into winter, when the plan is close range, dinner reservations, low light, a coat left on the back of the chair.
