Oud Wajj is a rose-oud reed diffuser extrait inspired by the ancient city of Taif, once known as Wajj — a high-altitude walled city in western Arabia famed for its rare rose gardens and still mountain air. The fragrance is built around one of perfumery’s most prized materials: Taif rose absolute. Grown over 1,800 metres above sea level, Taif roses bloom for only a few weeks each spring. Harvested at dawn and distilled the same day, the oil is vivid, sharp, and lightly citrus-tinged — distinct from Damask or Turkish rose. Oud Wajj captures that fleeting harvest and translates it into a modern interior fragrance. The composition opens with a luminous rose water accord layered with saffron and a fermented fig and raspberry nuance, referencing Taif’s orchard valleys and spice markets. The fruit notes are restrained and dry, adding depth rather than sweetness. At the heart sits Taif rose absolute, supported by Turkish rose and amberwood to give body and diffusion. As the fragrance settles, Oud Assafi emerges — dark, cured, and complex — grounding the rose in resin and smoke. Benzoin adds warmth and softness, creating a long-lasting, atmospheric trail. Formulated as an extrait-strength diffuser, Oud Wajj is designed to diffuse slowly and evenly, filling a space with layered rose, oud, and resin. It is refillable, long-lasting, and crafted to sit at the intersection of Middle Eastern perfumery heritage and contemporary luxury home fragrance.
