Oveja Naranja 2023 is made by Bodegas y Viñedos Fontana, a Spanish producer grounded in organic and sustainable viticulture in the Castilla La Mancha and Castile y León regions of central Spain. The estate works its vineyards without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, embracing minimal intervention and vegan friendly practices. The vines grow on well drained limestone, clay and sandy soils that benefit from the region’s warm days and cool nights, giving wines clarity and balanced acidity. Oveja Naranja 2023 is an organic, vegan orange wine crafted from a roughly equal blend of Gewürztraminer and Muscat grapes. After harvest the grapes are destemmed and fermented with extended skin contact for around four months in stainless steel, developing its amber colour and texture. Bottled unfiltered to preserve aromatic complexity, it offers notes of dried apricot, orange peel, jasmine and spice with bright acidity and gentle tannins. Serve lightly chilled; it pairs well with roasted poultry, grilled vegetables, spiced dishes and rich, runny cheeses.
