Batu is an Overdyed Patchwork Runner. The pile on these vintage runners has been pared back, the original colours neutralized, then over-dyed with a deeply saturated single colour to create a floor covering which is unique, both in design and colour. Pieces from these vintage rugs are arranged in patchwork style, (an art in itself) then stitched together in Blanket Stitch, using a super strong thread; 50% cotton & 50% non-flammable polyester. Each one is then backed with a heavy cotton canvas making the finished product extremely strong and durable.
