Deanne holds a Bachelor of Education, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has over 20 years of teaching experience. With extensive experience creating luxury dancewear and stage costumes, Deanne brings professional industry knowledge into every lesson. Her passion is helping students understand the techniques behind beautifully finished garments while building confidence in their own creative abilities. Prerequisities This class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of using an overlocker. No previous experience using an overlocker is required. However, as this is a beginner class (rather than an absolute beginner class), it is helpful if you already have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine. Before attending, you should be able to: Identify the basic parts of a sewing machine Independently thread a sewing machine Sew basic straight seams using a sewing machine Please note, this class is not designed to teach you how to set up, familiarise yourself with or navigate a sewing machine. Instead, it focuses on introducing you to the overlocker and teaching you how to confidently use it.
