With VU-style metering and a classic control layout, this is the father of all VCA compressors. XT - Warmer and more harmonically dense, with enhanced low-frequency presence and a fuller bottom end. The XT Version offers a smoother, more versatile tone compared to the VU. It delivers a richer low end and a great harmonic structure, thanks to the optional transformer installed in the reference model. The XT version also features the Overeasy control, that enables the soft-knee compression curve. A - The A version is a more modern and transparent evolution of the 160, featuring a slightly faster response time and tighter control.
