Test that shows if your horse carries frame overo, a white patch pattern that, with two copies, gives a foal that cannot live. Finds out whether your horse carries frame overo, the EDNRB variant Ile118Lys. One copy gives the frame overo coat pattern in a healthy horse. Two copies give Lethal White Foal Syndrome, which is always fatal. The report gives the genotype directly as n/n, n/O or O/O, from hair roots or EDTA blood, at any age. Some carriers show little or no white, and tobiano can hide the pattern, so only the genotype tells you whether a mating is safe. Results are issued as a DNA certificate within 5 to 10 working days of the sample reaching the laboratory.
