Borne from my complex experiences of endings, Overture is a glimpse into a world built outside of linear timelines. Moments of grief, joy, loss, magic are happening all at once, an d perhaps in the wake of an apocalypse an impossible new thing lives.Included in this piece is a line from the old English folk song On Ilkley Moor baht’at. It tells the tale of someone who dies on the moor and is then buried, eaten by worms, eaten by ducks, then eaten by us. It’s a tale of continuing after the end and living on in new unknown ways.
