Owhiro Bay in Wellington, New Zealand, looks out over one of the most dangerous and unpredictable stretches of water in the world. The Cook Strait, which separates New Zealand’s No rth and South Island means ‘the place of the god of darkness’. During his tenure as composer-in-residence with Chamber Music New Zealand, Farr lived in a house overlooking this bay which inspired the composer in writing Owhiro, his first string quartet. Show more
