Oyatoko is the raw material of hojicha, which is harvested together with the leaves (parents) that are full of nutrients from the previous year and the new shoots (children) that h ave grown from them. Please enjoy the scent and taste of hojicha. The have a soft and round taste, and the roasting adds a nutty taste. Hojicha is a very popular food tea in Japan, as it is both sweet and mouth-watering. It's a really nice autumn tea to cozy up to. Horii Shichimeien, founded in 1879, still manage the 600-year-old Okunuoyama Tea Garden in Uji, Kyoto.
