Back in the small coastal town of New Plymouth, Jamie and Karen Hodson kicked off their coffee-roasting journey. The spark came during a six-week trip through Central America. While visiting coffee farms and meeting growers in San Salvador, they got caught in a tropical lightning storm. As the rain poured and the scent of ozone filled the air, Jamie had a lightbulb moment - this was it. When they got back to Aotearoa, they decided to turn that inspiration into something real. From day one, Ozone has been built on strong family values and a genuine commitment to the people behind the coffee. It’s always been about more than just a good brew - it’s about connection, community, and doing things the right way.
