Photographic print from the “Chair Affair” series by Margriet Craens and Lucas Maassen. In this body of work, chairs are staged in ways reminiscent of couples caught in compromisin g positions, suggesting desire and character beyond function. Also a couple in life, the artists extend their reflections on intimacy to the objects around them – sitting as a physical pleasure, where thighs shift, hands caress, and bodies lean. First exhibited in 2015 as part of “The Vincent Affair” at Huis Nune Ville and later published in the book “Chair Affair” (Onomatopee), the series explores the intimate world of everyday objects.
