The Cherokee Indians would produce a black dye from walnut bark, which they, in turn, used to dye cloth. As early as the 2nd century AD, shells and kernels of the edible walnut were used to make a dye solution in the Levant. The dull brown and darker highlights of the grain associated with this wood gives the multicolored matte black, matte white and matte tan pigment mixed in with the epoxy a soft, subtle vibe.
