Dive in today with PADI Open Water Diver - the beginning of a lifetime filled with scuba adventures! This is the "online/elearning" part of the Open Water Diver Course (includes log book). You still need to complete and pay for pool and open water training separately. Click Here for Pool Information & Registration. During the PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll learn what you need to know to explore the underwater world using scuba. The PADI Open Water Diver course includes 3 parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives (in our local pool), and Open Water Dives (either in a local lake or on your next warm water getaway). Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You’ll enjoy making one or more mini dives, which take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives. To complete training you practice, apply and demonstrate what you learn during four Open Water Dives at a local dive site. Earning a PADI Open Water Diver certification shows that you met the course requirements. Dive centers and resorts require proof of certification before they will rent scuba equipment, fill scuba cylinders or book dive excursions. As a PADI Open Water Diver, you’ll be trained to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet, and are qualified to dive in conditions as good as, or better than, those in which you trained. Get started today with the Open Water Diver eLearning program, which covers all 5 PADI modules. You then complete “phase 2” of pool work with one of our qualified PADI instructors at the Kinsmen in Sherwood Park. Once you have finished both the online and pool components, you are ready for your 4 open water dives, either at a local Alberta dive site, or on your winter holiday at one of hundreds of PADI dive facilities worldwide. To purchase, click "add to cart" and we will complete your registration. We will contact you to confirm you name, email and date of birth, and send you a PADI code to get started!
