"My artwork aims to encapsulate what one experiences when they are exploring the Alpine environment. Growing up I spent a large amount of my time in the mountains and feel that my experiences there have played a large part in shaping me into the person I’ve become today. After learning to ski at the age of 3, I soon found that hating it wasn’t an option despite my 5 year old self’s very strong belief that I had been born into the wrong family. I’ve now been skiing for 15 years and it has become a large part of my life with many cherished memories attached. As of now I am currently competing in national and International events for Free-ride Skiing. Free-ride often lands you in areas less travelled in the mountains, and it can place you in situations where you’re fully exposed to the both beauty and wildly unpredictable nature of the mountains. In my work I aim to capture both the beautiful and dangerous aspects of the alpine environment."
