About the Artist – John Rotumah - From the young age of 18, John Rotumah discovered his natural talent for Aboriginal painting. Inspired by his mother and his children, John has been painting for over 30 years — 25 of those as a professional Indigenous artist.His artwork, which spans many mediums, has reached audiences around the world. One of his most iconic Aboriginal designs is the kangaroo sunset, a recurring theme that has become his artistic signature. John’s mother’s family are Minjungbal people from Fingal, on the north coast of New South Wales, beside the ocean. His father’s heritage is from Rotuma Island, Fiji, and John proudly carries his father’s name.
