Over this 5-week class, students will plan, develop and complete their own finished canvas artwork while learning the fundamentals of painting along the way. Students will explore how to prepare a canvas, plan and sketch their composition, choose a colour palette, understand colour theory, mix colours, layer paint, create depth and texture, and add finishing details to bring their artwork together. Rather than rushing to complete a new project each week, students will have time to develop one special piece, learning patience, creative decision-making and how artists build an artwork step by step. Perfect for children who love painting and are ready to develop their technique, confidence and individual artistic style. Plan it. Paint it. Create something to be proud of.
