Pale Current is one of the softer images in my Between Tides series. It was the colour that caught me first. That beautiful pale blue moving through soft gold and cream, with just the slightest touches of mauve and pink appearing between them. I love the way the water has created these long, sweeping lines. Nothing feels fixed. The colours seem to slide into one another, following the movement left behind as the tide changes. Photographed from above, the landscape becomes almost completely abstract. There is no horizon and very little sense of scale—just colour, shape and movement. Pale Current is part of my Between Tides series, exploring the constantly changing patterns and colours revealed in shallow water and tidal landscapes. Interior Design Suggestions Pale Current has a particularly light and gentle palette, making it very easy to live with. The combination of pale blue, cream, sand and soft gold would work beautifully with warm whites, light timber, limestone, travertine, linen and other natural finishes. It would be particularly lovely in a bedroom or quiet living space, but I can also see it working very well in a coastal interior without becoming obviously "coastal". Printed large, those sweeping lines become much more prominent and give the artwork a wonderful sense of movement across the wall.
