Ok, another "not so glamorous" topic, but actually when I started to really focus on how I laid out my palette and how I organised it, plus being more conscious in what I was doing with my pigment and water, my paintings immediately improved. You don't have to do what I do of course; but do give it some thought before painting, and also be conscious when painting as to how you are using your palette. Make it work for you, not against you.
